iPods built to last ‘for years’, not ‘four years’
Oh man, what a stupid language we have.
“Earlier this week, Chicago Tribune quoted Apple spokeswoman Natalie Kerris as saying iPods have a relatively low failure rate and that they are designed to last “four years.”However, Kerris in a statement to the iLounge on Friday said she was misquoted. The Apple spokeswoman said she told the reporter that the iPod was designed to last ‘for years,’ not ‘four years.’”
While iPods do seem to have a pretty low failure rate, I don’t expect that most of them will still be in use four years after their purchase. Even if you could manage to keep your iPod protected from most damages, I wonder how many battery exchanges four years of constant use would demand. Anyone have a 4+ year old iPod that they still use regularly?
