Beefed up iPod Nano in August!

Comming very soon on August 7-11 at the WWDC 2006 conference it is belived that Mr. Jobbs will be releasing a beefed up iPod Nano. This would make it the 2nd Generation iPod Nano. This flash based player which was released last September has not yet been updated, except for the release of the 1 Gig nano. Sources say they will be releasing a 6 Gig and 8 Gig nano at this event.
NAND flash, it is the magic inside of the iPod nano. Thanks to NAND flash memory Apple is able to make those tiny little devices, and now Samsung has announced that they are mass manufacturing 8 gig NAND flash chips. via – TUAW
Not only do they get an increase in memory but they will also be sporting new metal bodies that are less prone to scratching. Not only that the best part is that they will be bringing back the big selling point of the iPod Mini by releasing the Nano in multiple colors.

This growth spurt for the nano was mentioned previously on The Buzz. No one is sure yet if they will be adding video features to the flash based player, guess we will just have to wait and see! Stay tuned to the Buzz for the latest news on this!
