Microsoft Project Argo

If Microsoft had but one rival, it would be Apple. And if Apple had but one product to profit from, it would be the iPod. So what better way for Microsoft to attack their enemy than to compete head to head against Apple’s golden child of digital music players. Enter Microsoft’s “Project Argo”.
Rumors of this Microsoft developed MP3 player have been running around the net like crazy lately. Only yesterday, however, did Engadget get a first glimpse at what the new player may *possibly* look like. Codenamed Argo, this player supposedly has some features that will truly make it revolutionary:
- Audio and video player with a screen that’s bigger than the 5th gen iPod
- Built in WiFi for downloading content directly to the player
- Ability to participate in Xbox Live connected networks
- Ability to download any of your iTumes Music Store tracks for no additional charge
- Joined by a whole line of Xbox related and connected products to come
These details are still a little shady, but as more gets revealed, the excitement will only increase. I really think that Microsoft has been paying attention. What better way to circumvent the viral publicity of the emerging 6th gen iPod than to create your own mystery player?
