AnythingButiPod has another amazingly thorough review out, this time of the new Toshiba Gigabeat S series player. The provided Google video of the user interface looks excellent. However, the reviewer has pointed out some pretty serious flaws in the player’s other departments, namely file support and file transferring. While I’m sure playing with the Portable Windows Media Center is awesome, it certainly comes with its share of proprietary restrictions.

The rundown:

Pros

* Great Interface
* Nice Screen
* Great Looking Video Playback
* Great Playlist Support
* Proprietary & Standard Connections
* Wide Selection of Music Stores and Services

Cons

* Windows XP SP1 Only
* MTP – No UMS Drag and Drop
* Only WMV9 Native Video Support
* Buggy MTP & WMP11
* No Custom EQ
* Battery Life
* Black Player Shows Dirt Easily
* No Delete on-the-fly
