More 6th Generation Ipod pics
The word on the streets is that they may be releasing the new 6th Generation iPod on April 1rst, 2006. Some information has also been released that the ipod will have a 4 inch screen. A lot of people believe that apple will be teaming up with the movie industry to bring full length movies to the new “widescreen” 6th Generation iPod. I believe this is a smart step for apple as long as the battery life on the newer ipods are better. Currently on a 5th generation ipod video you can’t finish long movies such as Lord of the Rings without charging as you watch.
There has been a lot of controversy around these pictures whether or not they are real or not. I am just here bringing the stuff I find. So here ya go. Believe it or not - your choice but do discuss in the comments!

looks cool, but what about apples rumored disagreements with the movie industry? another thing is; what about the battey life? the 5g had no battery life at all when watching a movie. another concern is that the screen will be mad scratched up if u used ur finger. what about the price? im hoping they discontinue the 5g,–the screen was way to big to still make the ipod design look cool– and make the 6g 299 for a 30 gb model and 399 for a 60 gb model. i trust apple to make the screen quality better and the battery life longer.
The screen scratching issue will prevent this design from ever happening. It’s a nice idea but the screen will end up with a circle scratch were the wheel is displayed. So if it is full screen then I guess the click wheel will be on the back. However I think the big announcement on the 1st April will be some kind of Pda with touch screen technology, using some pointing device.
It would be nice if it had bluetooth so we can synce with the computers.
Wow. The design is awesome but I know that there will definitely be many problems especially with the screen and battery life. I like the I idea but they could improvise like making a smaller screen with a click wheel in the horizontal position. That would be the stuff.

Word dudes! This ipod kicks butt!. the only problem would be the screen ould get scarched p. Aplle might say to clean it preiodlicy but that would be a pain in the rear!. They should put a special cover for the screen that is bearly visible and prevents glare. If not they should throw in an “iPod Cleaning pack” or sumpthing.

What about every time you touch the on-screen click-wheel. Won’t you have to wipe off your oil glands left behind which means you’ll have to lock it down to clean before you can enjoy your video?

a touch pen would also scratch the screen if not more then just using your finger. it is a cool design and all but realistically it will have no chance in the markets…too many complaints

i think these photos are fake. Although the first photo is very convincing, there are some things wrong with the other ones. First off in the second picture the screen splits in the middle and shows a different picture on the different sides. A guy probably photoshopped two ipod video pictures into one. Also if this design does happen, it will probably be slightly bulkier or have some slight demension differences from it and the ipod video. These photos have the exact same demensions as the video which further enhances my case that these are photoshoped. Also on the third picture the wheel doesnt look transparent enough to be touch. well these r my thoughts but if this did happen i’d buy one instantly.
on the 1g nano they made a was to prevent scratches, They would use that same idea. They said the ipod would come out on OR AROUND april 1st. GO Yankees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all the way baby. HEY
There could always be the possibility of no touchscreen and a click wheel that you can plug into the dock connector. think about it, you could still get the full screen.
hey yea this ipod looks good but, there is a problem , the screen and the battery life, i got my 5th generation ipod and the screen is fucked up , i had 3 ipods and they had the same problem, now the battery life is good playing music, but actually playin videos in the generatio of ipod is not enough battery life… n yea i think apple should change the theme of the ipod because all the ipods had the same theme…
Before they bring a whole new iPod they should start by improving/fixing the battery life for videos and the screenscratching problem too

hey (I know these pictures are fake obviously) but if apple do come out with something like this, then they could have a felt-tip pen that wouldnt scratch the screen, and then after use you coould just stick it into the side or somewhere. Also apple is always fixing battery life and cramming stuff into smaller things so i think it could have a heaps long battery life, well not heaps long but long enough to watch a couple of movies…
Ok… uhm i dont know about this new ipod. I mean it looks like it would get scratched more then any other ipod. I mean im on my 4th ipod, and i think before you come out with a new one you should fix the problem of hoe easily it gets scrached. The new ipod will have so many complaints, i wouldnt bother buying one.
Even with a protective casing, it will probably break once a week. The battery life will porbably be about 2 hours.
Stick to the 5th generation
The middle (second) picture is obvoiusly fake. There is a clear line down the middle with different glare on each side, meaning it was photoshopped. The first is pretty believable. I have doubts about the third.
I heard they have new tec that will let you use the wheel with out touching the screen.
needs the dock on the (side/new bottom) so you can dock it and watch a widescreen video and not have to hold it.
Well, on the power issue, they def. have inproved it big time. the new ipods are out! (not these)

Every one of you who thinks the screen scratching with the 5th gen ipod will be a problem with this model does not know much about technology. A touch screen WOULD NOT be made of the same screen matieral. Touch screens are made from totally different material than regular screens. Learn a little more about technology before you jump to conclusions about Steve Job’s and the rest of Apple’s ability to design their products.

to all the geniuses who say, “oh that’s impossible, you can’t have the clickwheel on the screen it will get all scratched….” FYI touchscreens are not the same as a plastic-covered lcd screen on an ipod video. if scratches would be an issue, wouldn’t there be a little problem with, uh, maybe palm pilots and styluses, tablet pcs?
To add to the preveous complaints about screen scratching and battery life, durability would be comprimised by this design. The larger screen design would make it so that if any great amount of pressure were put on the screen, it would crack. I like the horizontal scroll bar idea. I think however, that ipod should have a sliding conver over half the giant screen. ON it would be the click wheel, and it would protect all but the essential parts of the screen. When movie was playing, it would slide back, making the ipod full screen. Wow, if they do that, im sueing.

the pictures are definitely fake. if they were real, the 6th generation ipod would be based on the 5th generation video body style. and also the pictures representing the full screen are poorer quality than the rest of the picture. (they have choppy edges hinting that they were reshaped/sized).
as someone had said before, perhaps the click wheel would be on the back of the ipod, but i am still unsure.
i guess we’ll just have to wait it out and see what happens.

Thankfully, these things just keep getting better and better even if some of the remoured iPod features don’t actually materialize.
If a 6 gen, with a camera, with 60 gigs, and the ability to carry music, videos, AND all be in a little box. then imagine how much it must cost. and also Apple has to keep up with is competetors (Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo) which both are expecting huge profits from Halo 3, PS 3, Nintendo revolution. if you think about it apple needs to come out with a futuristic idea of its own and 6th gen vid could be it. Obviously for this design to work they would need some kind of protective cover to prevent scratching. The one I have now is already scratched up-to make this kind of design without any kind of new technology for the front would be incredibly stupid considering the amount of complaints they’re getting. The apple people have definately realized that scratching and smudging the screen would be a major problem, and I’m sure they’ll come up with a solution if this is in fact the design they’re going with.
Oh yeah, and if you honestly can’t see that these pictures are fake then may God have mercy on your soul. I’ve seen things like this from other sources and the patent leads me to believe that this is the design they’re going with, but none of these pics are real.
its a great idea but just keep this in mind ifu want to buy it, if a 2.5inch screen only lasted 3 hours imaigine how fast the battery will go with a 4inch full screen ipod great idea but i quess we will haveto wait for a generation 7 ipod if this is the upcomming one
The screen/scratching issue has been brought up a hundred times, but do people forget that there are and have been PDAs on the market for the past few years that have both touchscreen and video playing capabilities? Those sceens are made from material that doesn’t scratch easily, and people pay a lot of money for palmpilots and PDAs. Why wouldn’t people buy an touchscreen iPod just because they’re afraid the screen will get scratched?

why does it necessarily have to cost $650? just based on the available tech, it seems it could be quite reasonable. there are lots of video/mp3 products with comparable screen sizes that are under $400.

OMG dude, this is the greatest! The information your delivering is accurate, but the timing. Apple has always had the reputation of releaseing new items at a later time than expected… This new 6th gen iPod can NOT come out until the 5th gen is old! The 5th gen only came out last Dec! We still need a few more months (I estimate at least 6) until the next iPod comes out… And it will totally rock everyones world!

These pictures look somewhat promising, although I am a little suspicious. They look kinda photoshopped. IF Apple decides to do the whole touchscreen-wheel idea, yes, as people have said, it would get invested with scratches aand fingerprints. Luckily, there’s a solution to that. velvit touch pens, screen protectors, com on people! We are in the 21st century you know!
Also, rumour is u can move the touch wheel around the screen.

hello people, i too see the problems in the latest design, although i do agree it looks v. smart! but dont u think that the ‘full screen’ is maybe a mode? therefore the other half of the screen would shut down as u listen through your tracks, and wont it be annoying when you have a big click wheel in the way of your veiwing of a movie.

First of all the new design is awsome. Second I dont think there will be a problem with scratches on the screen. I own a PDA and it has a touch screen , its made of some special material that doesnt scratch when you use your finger, it just gets dirty but you can always just clean it. The touch pan has a special flattened tip that doesnt scratch the screen.
I am waiting for the 6th gen ipod for so long… the Ipohone was released….. and we still have no official info…

im always the one who fall for stuff like this.. but ever since i got photoshop im a little bit more smarter if everyone look at these picture you can see the people copy & paste the touchscreen onto the old ipod making it look new.
These are obviously photoshopped. And I have no idea why you guys keep complaining about the screen. If you’ve seen what they’ve used on the iPhone,s you’d know better that they won’t scratch. As for wiping the screen, are you that lazy that you can’t just grab a sleeve and wipe? This generation of people is amazingly selfish. And I’m sure Apple will work out battery life. If you have a better idea, then you design it. I can’t wait to see what Apple come out with.
